MICROMOBILITY INFORMATION
Micromobility
Registration required for micromobility devicesThe University has implemented a micromobility policy to support safe, more organized use of bicycles, e-bikes, e-scooters, unicycles (or single-wheel devices) and other personal mobility devices on campus.
What devices are included in micromobility?
Small, lightweight, personal transportation devices that typically cannot travel faster than 30 MPH. Micromobility vehicles include non-motorized, human powered vehicles, such as bicycles and non-motorized scooters, as well as motorized, electric powered vehicles, such as electric bicycles, electric scooters, electric skateboards, electric unicycles, and other small personal transportation vehicles. For purposes of this policy, micromobility vehicles do not include non-motorized skateboards or electric personal assistance mobility devices (EPAMDs).
VEO E-Bike
The University of Alabama has partnered with Veo to provide the UA community with an accessible, safe mobility option for students, faculty, and campus visitors. The Veo devices fill a gap between mass transit, personal or shared vehicles, and foot traffic.
